Sandro Botticelli's Primavera is one of the most famous masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance.

Made around the 1482, the panel painting is today preserved in the Uffizi in Florence.

On the left stands Mercury, recognizable by the caduceus he holds, intent on chasing away the clouds to protect the garden.

On the opposite side, on the right, a dynamic scene develops: Zephyr, the spring wind, embraces the nymph Chloris.

From their meeting Flora is born, the personification of spring, which scatters flowers on the ground as it advances with elegance.

The garden is full of naturalistic details.
